I'm as baffled and embarrassed as anyone over the current leader of the so-called free world. Having lived and toured in the US for most of the last 12 years, I've seen what a great country it is. I've also seen what a huge, divided country it is. And I'm saddened that America has elected a president who seeks only to increase that divide, creating chaos to distract us all, while normalizing vile, degrading racist rhetoric and filling his and his billionaire friends' pockets with more disgusting blood money. He represents - flaunts - the worst in us all. Such a handy puppet for the even more disgusting - and dangerous opportunists in his midst.

This song I've written, High School Is Eternal, indulges some of the online echo chambers that make us - liberals and conservatives alike - feel so good, so superior, for a moment, but perhaps polarize human beings even more in this day and age. I wrote it several years ago, with no political agenda in mind - it was intended more as an observation of the way we seek to present ourselves, our opinions and lifestyles online - as if we are all tiny brands, aware of ourselves and our surface identities. It seemed to resonate with an even bigger picture when I heard it again now, in 2017, so I decided to share it with a good cause that knows better than I how to constructively approach the many challenges ahead.
