Golden Suits - Little Choir

about

This song started out as a bitter dis track about a musician who annoys me. I wrote the first bit of it in the depths of tour misery, at 6AM by an indoor pool at a Best Western in Oregon. Over time it got a little less petty and more inward looking, but I was never able to shake a feeling of embarrassment about having a “dis track” so I didn't release it. It’s funny, because when I wrote it, it was 100% a personal song, but in this context, there are lines in it that feel very much about he-who-shall-not-be-named, like “You can move into a tower and call it a home” or “Where is that choir now? Waving flags they’d howl and howl.” But I guess everything feels political now.
